The Preliminary Practice (Ngondro) of Taking Refuge and Developing Bodhicita

From January 14 ~ February 12
Saturday and Sunday               9:30 AM~ 12:00 PM lead by Geshelas

In a previous commentary Khen Rinpoche has referred to Ngondros as the preliminary practic of Ganden Mahamudra. If we want to achieve Buddhahood, then the basis is the Ngondro practice. Liberation from samsara requires effort directed in a practical way to purify negativities and accumulate virtues. The Ngondro practice gives us the framework with which to begin. The first step is to enter the path as a Buddhist by taking refuge. However, taking refuge is not enough to eradicate the two obscurations to enlightement. One also needs to develop bodhicitta, the altruistic intention to work with compassion for all sentient beings, and thus, to become a Mahayana practitioner.

Our centre will start from January 14 for theis practice, we expect to spend half year time to complete the first preliminary practice. Geshela Tenzin Chophel and Pema Tsering will lead us to practice until February 12. After that, We shall keep this practice in our weekly schedule.
